Achieving great designs using Hebel

The build and challenges

Danette Architecture was briefed to re-design the existing house to create a modern design, sympathetic to the existing character of the dwelling, maximising the use of natural light. A timber structure was proposed, so a solid masonry system was required. Architect Mark Wilson had heard about CSR Hebel and organised a meeting at CSR House with the client and Structural Engineer where all his and his client’s questions relating to Hebel were answered.

When designing the home and sourcing materials, Wilson had to consider all aspects of the design including thermal and acoustic properties, in addition to the method of installation and the finished aesthetic and cost.

In regards to alternative building materials, brick veneer was also considered as an external wall finish to the new first floor walls. However, using Hebel reduced the requirements for expensive steel framework and the installation of the first floor walls only took three days to complete. This provided the builder and client with the advantage of a shorter building programme.

The clients love their new home. A collaborative team worked together to create their dream house and a fantastic end product. Both the client and Mark Wilson are extremely impressed with the thermal and acoustic properties of Hebel PowerPanel.
